Dual Colour Bi-fold Doors Give This Home A Modern Country Feel

Fully embracing the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside surrounding it, this property underwent huge renovations to make it into the modern country home it is today. The owners, Mr and Mrs Hones, bought the property about four years ago knowing that it would require some serious improvements to turn it into a comfortable family home. And, the Hones’ decided that if they were going to invest in the property and make the significant improvements, they would ensure that quality was at the forefront.

As well as removing their chimney, replacing brickwork and building a sizeable porch, the couple also knocked through two downstairs rooms to make one large family kitchen/dining space. The Hones’ knew they wanted to make the most of their stunning view, which spans across rolling countryside, and so glazing was an important factor to their renovation work.

The couple stated that three of their friends already had Origins Aluminium Bi-fold Doors installed in their homes and couldn’t recommend the product - or the brand - enough. Mr Hones says, “our friends recommended Origin because they approved of the quality. To make the most of the natural light and achieve a extensive view of their garden, the couple installed three sets of Origin Bi-fold Doors in their new kitchen; two sets of 2 door bifolds and one set of 3 door bifolds. As well as bi-fold doors, the couple installed Origin French Doors in the master bedroom with a juliette balcony. “Our bedroom feels a bit like a tree house now, as we get a full view of the tree outside, we feel like we’re in it!” Mrs Hones commented, “we also had a great experience with our installer, Goldseal, who made the whole thing so easy.”

The Colour of their doors was another important factor for these renovators. With green windows previously installed, the couple knew they wanted doors that would match this style. The couple took full advantage of the dual colour option that’s available with all Origin products, and opted for a RAL 6021S (a pale green tone) exterior and a White interior (to match their interior decor). The result is a stunning combination of crisp clean colours that blend traditional and modern style beautifully.

When asked what the main improvements have been since installing Origin Doors both up and downstairs, the couple said “the amount of natural light we can now enjoy inside our home. On hot summer days, especially like what we had this year, being able to completely fold back the doors in both our kitchen and bedroom meant we were able to stay nice and cool.” The couple say they use the doors every day, so they are glad that opted for quality - and are covered with a long guarantee of up to 20 years.

Although not looking to move any time soon, the couple believe the property has increased in value since the work they’ve done, and will be looking to get it valued soon to see the results.

“The most common reaction we’ve had from family and friends has been ‘Wow!’” says Mr Hones. “We wouldn’t change a thing about the whole process. We’re happy with all the renovations we’ve made and we absolutely recommend Origin to our friends - in fact, we already have.”
