- How do I clean the tracks on my bi-fold doors and do you have any other maintenance advice?
Use a small brush to loosen any debris from the track. Using a suitable vacuum cleaner with a thin attachment, vacuum up the debris in the track. Do not allow debris to build up in the track as this will affect the operation.
Your Origin Doors contain mechanical moving parts that will need to be lubricated periodically. This will include the hinges, multipoint lock, handles and the trolley wheels in the top and bottom track. Lubricate using silicone spray or grease and wipe away any excess with a non-abrasive cloth.
- How often should I clean my bi-fold doors?
Origin Bi-fold Doors need occasional cleaning. If you live in a marine environment, however, this will need to be done far more frequently. In salt water environments, the external surface of the doors should be washed down with fresh water on a weekly basis to prevent salt deposits from building up.
- What products should I clean my doors with?
Use a light, soapy solution (washing up liquid is not recommended) and non-abrasive cloth to wipe dirt from the doors. Avoid using an abrasive cloth such as a scouring pad as the doors can be scratched. Do not use solvent based cleaning products.
- What else can I do to ensure my bi-fold doors look their best?
The likes of the Q-Lon seals can be cleaned – again, use a light, soapy solution and non-abrasive cloth to gently clean these. Do not use solvent based cleaning products on the seals.
