Steve and Jane Williams have lived in their Nottingham home for almost 15 years. They decided in the summer of 2018, that it was time to renovate and give their home a more modern and contemporary feel.

Maximising Views was a Must

Aside from a complete renovation of the kitchen and a general re-decoration throughout the rest of the home, the couple extended out the back of the property. In doing this, Steve and Jane wanted to make the most of the stunning views of countryside, so intended to incorporate a lot of glass into the rear of the home and replace existing windows and doors across the front to match.

Colours for a Modern Meets Traditional Style

With their minds made up, the couple went on to order an array of casement windows, two sets of bi-fold doors, fixed windows, a single door for their utility room. Steve and Jane chose popular colour Anthracite Grey (7016M) for all doors and windows. The anthracite grey for the bi-fold doors and windows was in keeping with the modern, contemporary theme of the rest of the property.

Natural Light and Enhanced Views

They chose the configuration of the fixed windows and bi-fold doors in the orangery to enhance the stunning views on their doorstep. The two sets of three door bi-folds are situated opposite each other in the orangery – adjacent to the fixed windows – to increase on natural light from all angles. Three large, fixed pane windows were also incorporated into the living room to frame the views from another frequently used space. The single door installed in the utility room is used for easy everyday access to the outdoors – especially ideal for the colder months of the year.

The Williams’ love their newly renovated home and say that the new doors and windows make all the difference and give an enhanced feeling of a high-quality finish.
