Origin Help Make it Sixth Time Lucky for the Scott's

Finding the right home to settle down in is not always an easy task, something Sue Scott knows plenty about; “We moved homes five times within a 20 year period before finding this” – Sue was referring to her dream home, which is where she and husband Richard, along with their two children Oliver, 17, and Harley, 14, now live.

Sue was a regular ‘home-browser’ – always looking at properties online, hoping to find a hidden gem. Her wish came true back in 2014 when she stumbled across a bungalow in Cheltenham that had barely been touched by the previous owners for close to 30yrs.

Sue and Richard knew the property needed a lot of work before they would be able to call it home, but with huge potential and an incredible garden, they took the plunge and made the move.

The incredible space at the rear of the house was key for Sue - she wanted to make the most of the view and open up her home to its amazing surroundings. The key to this was the addition of bi-folding doors to the back of the house – something Sue had seen in magazines and on other properties.

Through the recommendation of their builder, the Scott’s took a closer look at what Origin had to offer. Wanting a modern look to match their kitchen/lounge extension, Sue was impressed with the aesthetics of the Origin Bi-folding Door as well as its smooth running action.

A spacious feel whilst having the doors closed was paramount for Sue’s kitchen plans. Origin’s narrow sightlines helped her achieve this and the extensive choice of colours enabled Sue to match the frames seamlessly with the rest of her extension.

The Scott’s were so impressed with what Origin were able to offer that they also installed three of the Origin Windows. Opting for two fixed lights on one side of the kitchen, Sue was looking to let more light into the corner of the room without losing too much wall space.

Whilst there are still a few jobs to be done to make the house Sue’s dream home, the extension is everything she wanted, with the doors and windows being the perfect finishing touch. The summer has been spent with the doors wide open as the sun stays shining on the incredible garden late into the evening.
