Gold Standard for Silverwood

Located in beautiful Bridport, Dorset, 'Silverwood' is an investment property owned by Anna George, her husband Joe and their extended family. It was originally purchased as a development project back in early 2016 and was a project Anna couldn’t wait to get started on.

Joe works in IT, but Anna is a property developer by trade and has completed around 10 previous projects across the UK. Moreover, she's a keen interior designer with an eye for contemporary finishes.

Today's 'Silverwood' was a year in the making - and bifold doors are a crucial part of its new look. From day one, Anna knew the type of doors she wanted after she discovered Origin during a visit to a local showroom. She was looking for seamless colour coordination - right down to the handles. Origin allowed this level of customisation with their colour-coded handle option, which Anna took full advantage of matching all hardware with the Dark Silver Metallic (RAL 9007) doors. In addition to this, she wanted the ability to open up the doors completely and allow unbridled access to the attractive deck outside – something Origin Bifolds could also help her achieve.

It is not only Origin doors that the Georges opted for - "There's a lovely, large gable, it runs the entire width of the house. It gives you the feeling of being in a cathedral, it's so grand and we had to find doors that would make the most of it." Anna recalled. In addition to the gable and bifolds, there are 4 fixed frames. These windows complement the bifolds as they mirror them in regards to size and colour, adding to the seamless, modern feel of the living/kitchen area of the property.

From the moment the Georges picked their Origin products, they enjoyed a smooth order and installation process, helped at every stage by Origin partners Hussey & Briggs. Everyone who has visited the property since completion has had nothing but glowing reviews of Anna’s work on the property and specifically the new doors - "People absolutely love the doors. Plus, the tinted glass has been great as it doesn’t get too hot in the sunny weather." Anna confirmed. "Christmas was stunning, we had a large tree in the corner by the doors and the tree lights were reflected in all the doors and windows."

But Anna hasn't become complacent! After living in the finished property for six months, the couple sold 'Silverwood' (for significantly more than they bought it for) and are now relishing their next renovation challenge in Ringwood, where she is once again looking for Origin products to feature!
