OB-36+ External Doors
OW-80 Casement Window
RAL 3007M Black Red

Once an international athlete, now a prominent home-interior influencer, Claire’s no stranger to discipline, detail, and setting high standards. This is her third major renovation project, and this time, she’s brought her creative instincts to a Victorian house full of character, but also, which always comes with the territory, its fair share of quirks. From uneven floors to dated fixtures, the property needed upgrades that preserved its heritage soul while adapting to family living.

Design Ambitions & Choosing the Statement Pieces

Claire’s goal was to have one feature that anchored the design throughout: bold, elegant external doors and windows that would both respect the Victorian architecture and breathe life and light into daily living. After exploring options, she chose Burgundy Soho external doors, paired with an expansive OW-80 casement window with Georgian bars applied. The richness of the burgundy tone adds warmth and contrast against the period brickwork, while the large casement window floods interiors with daylight. Georgian bars give the traditional feel, referring back to classic Victorian sash style without compromising on modern performance.

Seamless Installation amid Victorian Challenges

Just six months earlier, timber doors from another company had been fitted, only to show signs of deterioration almost immediately. By contrast, this installation demonstrated the benefit of choosing quality from the outset. As expected, working in a Victorian property brought its peculiarities: irregular wall plumb, variations in brickwork and openings, and the need to ensure thermal efficiency and security without erasing character. Despite these challenges, the installation of the external doors and casement window was carried out with precision. Measurements were taken meticulously, and installers worked to align sightlines and ensure everything operates smoothly. Even the Georgian bars for the OW-80 Casement Windows, applied as stuck-on detailing, were designed to appear authentic and integral rather than an afterthought.

A Statement of Balance: Heritage, Style, and Function

What this project demonstrates is how modern aluminium glazing, when chosen and installed thoughtfully, can honour heritage without slipping into pastiche or sacrificing performance. The Soho style hardware, strong lines, Georgian bars, and rich burgundy all reference Victorian and Georgian styles. Meanwhile the OW-80 specification ensures thermal efficiency, durability and security.

Looking Forward: Home, Story, & Style

This renovation is more than an aesthetic success, it’s become part of the family’s story. The doors and windows are now the backdrop to daily life: school runs, birthday parties, quiet mornings with coffee. They show how a bold choice can lift the whole feel of a home. And for her as an influencer, they’re something she loves sharing, not just because they look good, but because they work beautifully.
