“I use them (the doors) every day. In the summer it’s just beautiful to have it all open, it’s just lovely to have all that space.”- Ellie Wood
The Woods family moved into their Bittaford home two years ago after looking for somewhere to enjoy the openness of the Devon countryside without being too far away from its traditional villages. After finding a property just south of Dartmoor National Park that backed onto some beautiful fields, Ellie and her husband knew they had found their new home.
Upon moving in, the couple immediately got underway with plans to make the most of the stunning views that were on offer at the back of the house and began looking into bi-folding doors.
“We loved the views and knew straight away that huge bi-fold doors would make the property.” – Ellie Woods
With two young, active boys, making the kitchen an open area was vital for Ellie. Creating a seamless transition between the inside and out would invite them to enjoy their garden and its incredible surroundings. The boys’ toy cupboard is right next to the doors to help invite them to play both inside and outside without feeling restricted.
To further aid the seamless transition between interior and exterior, the Woods opted for lowering the track of the doors and raising the kitchen flooring to create a flush track and also minimise the risk of tripping when moving around the kitchen and garden area.
The Origin Bi-folding Door stood out to Ellie because of the smooth running action, low maintenance and modern feel. The slim sightlines helped her achieve a “minimal look” without compromising on the quality or security of the frames. On top of all of this, the 20yr guarantee that comes as standard ensures ultimate peace of mind for Ellie and her family. Bristol Bi-fold were chosen to install the product and ensured the finish was immaculate.
