Internal Steel-style Internal Doors offer functionality and aesthetic improvements to this Botanical home
Why Origin?
There’s been a lot of talk lately of the concept of open plan living dying off, as our lives and demands change. A space that was once perfect for entertaining while cooking and keeping eyes (and ears) on the kids, has become an enabler of unwanted Zoom meeting background guests, lingering smells and an interruption to those all-important times when you need to concentrate. But, as this family in this home in Hertfordshire found, there is a way to keep all the benefits of open plan living, while creating some defined space and adding a bit of soundproofing. Origin’s internal steel-inspired doors provided the flexible answer they needed.
Product choice
Creating an elegant and modern way to divide the kitchen, dining and living areas and keep the light flowing through, the Origin OI-30 internal door brings a super-thin profile to support expanses of glass inside this home.
Where once rooms were open plan, they have been separated with an internal wall of glass featuring single and double door sets, accented with glazing bars to give a popular steel-look. The family wished to have an extra element of definition of spaces, so added solid black panels to the lower portions, which create a big visual impact, as well as an element of privacy in an open space. Designer door handles and finger bolts brings a stylish sense of cohesion to the overall look.
A bit about the Partner
HBD Systems, the Platnium Partner who completed this incredible installation, have been an Origin Partner for over 10 years, and have completed over 1000 Origin orders.
Benefits of Origin
If there is a way to open up a home – whether internally or externally – Origin has a solution which allows for no compromises. As life changes, so do Origin products – so while it may feel like a change in direction from one way of living to another, it doesn’t have to be anything but a positive. Achieving such an open and light feel within the home, while creating defined areas of privacy has meant that this family has been able to enjoy their home in an entirely new way while staying true to keeping the feeling of openness throughout.
