Couple transform their dining space with Origins brand new OB-36+ Soho French Doors in Anthracite Grey

Why Origin?

Having lived in this quaint, country property for just over 12 years, the Rasmussen family had spent time in creating a space that felt true to them and their style. With a mid-century modern flare running throughout the property, there is an overarching theme of traditional meets contemporary. It all works beautifully, creating an immediate cozy and comforting atmosphere the minute you walk in the door. However, in their dining space stood two sets of UPVC white French Doors, that just felt completely out of place. Having searched for years to find the right replacement for this room, the couple stumbled across Origins brand new OB-36+ Soho French Doors. With the dark, modern feel of the doors along with the stark, solid bars running through the glass, this soho style felt like it could be the perfect statement piece for this small but heavily lit room.

A bit about the project…

The couple opted for 7016M, Anthracite Grey, a far jump away from the tired, white, plastic French doors that had been there before. Not quite black, the anthracite colouring almost softens the space, with the light from the roof lantern bouncing off the profile, this colour has bought depth and interest to this charming dining area. Although some may worry, such a dark colour in a small space could make it feel more enclosed, it has in-fact done the opposite. Due to Origins super slim slight-lines of just 36mm, the couple have told us the room has “never felt brighter”, completely maximising the view into their garden, which before was covered by large lines of plastic door. Although the two door sets are two different configurations – one standard French Door set, and one French door set with fixed side lights. The two products sit next to each other in complete harmony; with the consistency of the horizontal bars, it draws your eye across the room and creates the perfect asymmetrical balance.
