A renovation with maximising living space and views in mind
Maximising on Views was a Must
The Collins family are lucky enough to have a few acres of land surrounding their home. Mrs Collins is a keen gardener with a degree in garden design, so the family wanted to enhance the views of their beautiful surroundings and be able to see the fruits of Mrs Collins’ labour when sitting in the new kitchen diner. With this in mind, The Collins family decided that they’d include lots of glass into the renovations.
Choosing the Perfect Products
The family got in touch with local door and window company, Malbrook Conservatories to look into their options. The team at Malbrook Conservatories recommended Origin products for the renovations due to the guaranteed quality of Origin’s product range. Since their home is an older property, thermal efficiency was very important to The Collins’, as well as ensuring that the products they chose would be sturdy and last for years to come. With an industry leading 20-year guarantee and excellent thermal efficiency ratings, Origin Doors and Windows were the perfect choice.
The Collins’ went on to order two sets of bi-fold doors for their kitchen extension – one three door set and one five door set. The bi-folds would be situated adjacent to each other to create two whole walls of glass – perfect for maximising on views. French doors were chosen to replace the Collins’ old, PVC doors in Mr Collins’ newly transformed office space. Fixed windows were installed either side of the French doors too, to enhance the spaciousness and brightness of the space. A range of casement windows were installed in the extension and newly renovated office space. The Collins’ opted for Hipca White for the products, to match the existing windows upstairs that didn’t yet need replacing. The family also noted that they wanted a subtle colour that wouldn’t distract from the views that would be framed by the new doors and windows.
A Swift Installation by Malbrook Conservatories
The installation process by Malbrook Conservatories went smoothly and the Collins’ were impressed at how swiftly the team were able to install the doors and windows with minimum disruption to the rest of the house. After a long and stressful renovation process, the simple installation process was a relief for Mr and Mrs Collins.
A Picturesque Result
Now the products are installed, the Collins family can enjoy their picturesque land from their new kitchen diner, whether the doors are opened or closed. Mrs Collins enjoys watching the wildlife from the kitchen when she is cooking, and Mr Collins can now benefit from the tranquil surroundings from his office that are framed by the new French doors.
The Collins’ family say that the benefits of the new doors and windows have been excellent. They can now open their kitchen diner right out onto the patio on warm days, to bring the outside in. The original layout of the home didn’t make the most of their lovely garden, and now, the Collins’ say that they enjoy and appreciate the garden much more. Mrs Collins commented ‘Our friends and family love the doors – especially when they’re opened up, it feels like we’re actually in the garden.’ They also say that they now enjoy the wildlife and beautiful trees that overlook the garden much more now, making the most of the land that they have.
