Steel Style OB-49 Bi-folds Complete This Couple's Stylish Home

Laura and her husband have lived in their gorgeous home for just over a year now, having moved in in 2019. As soon as they moved in, Laura knew they wanted to add an extension onto their home. The doors were far too narrow and were white - which did not match the aesthetic that Laura was aiming for. The couple were also extremely keen to add some more natural light into their home and this was something that their small French doors were not achieving.

Choosing the perfect design and configuration 

When exploring the options for their extension, the couple were drawn to both bi-folding and steel steel style doors. Laura, a keen Pinner, stumbled across an image of Origin Bi-folds with Georgian Bars on Pinterest and instantly fell in love. They were a perfect combination of sleek bi-folds with the stylish steel effect that her and her husband were after. After visiting the Origin website, Laura found her local Origin Premium Partner – Goldseal. Following their installation, the couple commented on how helpful and efficient Goldseal were throughout the entire process.

When it came to choosing the configuration and colour, Laura knew exactly what she wanted. Their front door was to be replaced with a slimline OB-49 Origin Single Door with two side lights and Georgian Bars in the sleek RAL shade of 9005M – jet black. The couple also wanted to add two 3 door OB-49 bi-fold door sets; one in the kitchen dining area and the other in the living room, both also fitted with Georgian Bars and in RAL shade 9005M. The bi-folds were set to replace the white wooden French doors and match the couple’s home décor style.

Since having their doors installed, the couple are thrilled with how much the space has been opened up. It allows easy access to the garden with an inside/outside feel – something they’re keen to make the most of in the coming Summer. Laura also commented on the modern aesthetic that the doors have brought to their home. The couple’s family and friends were also quick to say how stunning the new doors look and how much they have changed the feel of the space. Their housebuilder even commented saying that he should have got the couple to do the initial design before they moved in!

Both Laura and her husband are over the moon with their finished project; their home is now everything they dreamed it would be. Laura mentioned how she felt they have enjoyed far more fresh air in their home since having the doors installed and mentioned the only change they would now make is to change their current windows to match.
